Farrah Fawcett died Thursday from a rare cancer. She was 62.

The actress, best known for her role in TV’s “Charlie’s Angels,” chronicled her battle with cancer in a documentary called “Farrah’s Story” that aired last month.

Over 4.6 million viewers watched the finale of Real Housewives of New Jersey Tuesday—making Bravo the #1-rated television network that night, according to Nielsen—and resulting in four new episodes of the show to air in the coming weeks.

Washington DC Redline Metro Crash

Shortly after 5pm today, two Metro Red Line trains collided just outside the Fort Totten Metro station. Systemwide delays in the middle of rush hour are now to be expected. It’s not clear at this time if there were any injuries in the trains that have collided. Metro is slicing the Red Line in half for the rest of the day with a full service interruption between Fort Totten and Brookland, and power has been cut to those tracks. Six people have been discovered dead so far.

There are some older photographs that could have easily been altered to create the image that is making its rounds today. Zicam Side Effects

Apparently there have been reports of some pretty bad Zicam side effects. What is Zicam? Its a commonly prescribed drug that is used for the common cold.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said consumers need to stop using certain Zicam cold and allergy products because they can cause permanent loss of smell in over a hundred people. The Food and Drug Administration since 1999, There are 130 reports have been filed about the serious side effect.

Matrixx Initiatives the makers of Zicam have the following statement on FDA website: "No plaintiff has ever won a court case, because there is no known causal link between the use of Zicam Cold Remedy nasal gel and impairment of smell."

The Eclipse Yacht

The Eclipse is a luxury yacht currently under construction by Blohm + Voss in Hamburg, Germany. Thyssenkrupp, a large industrial giant in Germany, is very tight-lipped about the project. No definitive statements about size or features have been made. The yacht is expected to be delivered to Roman Abramovich in 2010 and is 170 metres (560 ft) long. This would make Eclipse one of, or even the world's largest private yacht, in existence.

When Eclipse is launched, Abramovich's private fleet will consist of four motoryachts: Eclipse; Pelorus; Sussurro; Ecstasea. Previously owned "Le Grand Bleu," was presented to Abramovich's associate and friend, Eugene Shvidler in June of 2006.

The Eclipse yacht will have at least two helicopter pads, several hot tubs, one pool, three launch boats, and a private submarine. For security, Eclipse will be fitted with motion sensors and a special missile-detection system

The 24 Hours of Le Mans (24 Heures du Mans) is the world's oldest sports car race in endurance racing, held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, Sarthe, France. Beer Bike Amsterdam

Although famous for a love of bicycles as the city's preferred transport, Amsterdam officials are starting to draw the line at a popular "beer bike."

The bike, which can seat at least 10 people around a central "bar" as they pedal through the city center, is a frequent sight in the Dutch capital and is said to be popular with stag and hen (bachelor and bachelorette) parties. A non-drinker steers the bike.

But two accidents involving the bikes since the start of April has prompted the city councilor responsible for transport, Hans Gerson, to investigate how many bikes there are and whether they pose a problem.

David Letterman Palin joke

David Letterman responded to Sarah Palin on his show Wednesday night after the Alaska governor slammed the "Late Show" host for a series of jokes he made about her and her family Monday. Palin accused Letterman of making "disgusting" and "sexually perverted" jokes about one of her daughters, including one about her daughter being impregnated by Alex Rodriguez at a Yankees game. She had also criticized Letterman for a joke about her looking like a "slutty flight attendant," which she deemed "pretty pathetic."

In a segment that lasted over 7 minutes, Letterman read the statements issued by Sarah and Todd Palin expressing their outrage about parts of his Top 10 list and then went through the offending jokes one-by-one to both apologize for and defend their content. "I'm telling you, I recognize that these are ugly. These are actually ugly. These are borderline...but again, in an act of desperation to get cheap laughs, which is what I've been doing for the last 30 years," Letterman said.

Despite maintaining his usual tone of playful sarcasm as he discussed his flap with Palin, Letterman did respond seriously to the charge that he had made a rape joke about a 14-year-old girl: "These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl," he said. Letterman insisted the jokes were intended to be about Bristol, who is 18-years-old. "Am I guilty of poor taste? Yes. Did I suggest that it was OK for her 14-year-old daughter to be having promiscuous sex? No."

He concluded by inviting Palin to come be a guest on his show.

Sarah Palin responded Thursday morning to Dave's invitation to appear on his show in a statement to Foxnews.com: ""The Palins have no intention of providing a rating's boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show," the statement read. 72 year old woman gets tasered

Woman Has Sued Officer
A 72-year-old great-grandmother was tasered by a cop. That's right a 72-year-old grandmother was tasered by a cop. You really don't expect me to stay neutral on this story do you? "Cop" is not what the guy deserves to be called.

Tommie Sandlin has posted an article on examiner.com titled "Good Morning America: 72 year old great grandmother

The story comes down like this:

A 72-year-old grandmother was driving her car in a "work zone." She admits herself she was going 60 mph in a 45 mph speed zone. A large law reduction officer wrote the lady a ticket; she refused to sign it. Officer Bozo playfully jerked the extremely small women around in no way attempting to arrest her. These "touches" were shoves and anyone watching the video can see he had lost his temper. You see he simply couldn't deal with it.

The woman refused to sign the ticket so the cop told her she was under arrest and he was going to have to taser her. He did after she agreed to sign the ticket but he was insulted she swore at him so he put a few hundred volts through her body.

He had the audacity to say later he felt threatened.

This man needs to be removed from his job and then he needs to be prosecuted for the criminal he is.

I do a lot of medical writing. Does anyone have any idea what that type of shock could do to a woman that old?

I have linked to the video. As you study the video note how heavy the officer is compared to the woman. Look how tall he is compared to the grandmother. Look how he puts his hands on her without any purpose other than to shove her; no attempt is being made to arrest her.

Look how he stands over her and whines as she is on the ground screaming.

There is only one explanation and it backs up the issue I have been preaching on for years. If a person is going to be a cop he or she has to have a very even personality and most importantly an I.Q. over 1.7; this cop has neither.

The great-grandmother has obtained an attorney. While I am not a fan of attorneys who use high profile drama to get cases, this is one time I hope the attorney gets famous and rich for what he able to get done to this "man."

Miss California Fired

Carrie Prejean has lost her Miss California crown!

Pageant officials said Wednesday that the 22-year-old model was fired because of continued breach of contract issues— specifically for lending her famous face to other organizations without getting clearance from her handlers.

Even pageant owner Donald Trump did not stand in the way this time.

First runner-up Tami Farrell (Miss Malibu) is slated to assume the role and responsibilities of Miss California USA.

Prejean made headlines last month after several topless photos from her young modeling days hit the web.
